Resin

• Polyester resins are synthetic resins which are formed by the reaction of dibasic organic acids and polyhydric alcohols.

• Resins are used in sheet moulding compound (SMC), bulk moulding compound (BMC), fabricated wall panels which are reinforced with fiberglass and so they are called fiberglass reinforced plastic.

• Unsaturated polyesters are utilized in many industrial relevant markets but in general are used as the matrix material for various types of composites.

• Glass fiber reinforced composites comprise of the largest segment in which polyester resins are used and can be processed via pultrusion, filament winding, SMC, BMC, vacuum moulding, spray up moulding and resin transfer moulding

Fiberglass Tape

• It is a fiberglass yarn which is non-alkali and having properties such as higher heat resistance And hence termed as fiberglass insulation tape.

• It provides good insulation and heat resistance and so it is used in electrical machinery and electrical apparatus, antiseptic, etc.

• It is a substitute of asbestos tape.

Elastics

• Elastics considered as a notion is sold in narrow strips and it generally serves to increase the ability of a garment to stretch and can be adjusted to the wearers of many different physical sizes.

• High quality elastic is able to be stretched to twice its original length and then return to its original state without showing appreciable change in length.

• Knitted elastic: It is a soft, light weight, quite strong and does not narrow when stretched. It is considered practical for light weight fabrics.

• Woven elastic: It is very strong and is much thicker than other forms of elastic and has both crosswise and lengthwise ribs. It does not narrow when stretched.
